Why I Came 'Out of the Closet'

That's right, I confess: I have been a closet Network Marketer for the past year (though if you'd been observant you would have seen the hints I'd been dropping all over this blog!).

Why was I a closet NWM-er in the first place? Well, for one thing I was tired of being surrounded by closed-minded, ignorant folks who prejudged me without seeking to find out what the heck NWM is about. I just couldn't be bothered to explain to each person that 'no it's not a pyramid scheme (and how dare you insinuate that I'd be involved in something illegal anyway!)'.

When I got started, I used to worry about what people thought of me when they found out I had a NWM business. (Hint: you should never be concerned about 'what others think of you'. It's a waste of time. Truth is, folks don't care much about you - they're too busy thinking about their own issues. Besides, even if they do think about you, it doesn't matter. It's your life, your choices, your actions, your thoughts, God's thoughts about you, that count. And He thinks you rock!)

In short, my ego was way big. Unfortunately, the size of my ego was adversely proportional to the size of my bank account at the time. Thank God for His mercies, cos I learnt quickly to snap out of that defeatist way of thinking.

So there was this stigma surrounding NWM (still exists actually), perpetuated by poor ignorant people.

Thankfully, I came to my senses after a couple months and realized that:

a) This business is not for everyone
b) Those who it's for, will be attracted to it, and will prosper in it
c) If I am willing to do the work, my business will thrive in spite of the skeptics, pessimists, ignoramuses, dream stealers and nay sayers. (Reminds me of the saying 'those who say it can't be done should make way for those of us who are doing it!')

Armed with this mindset, I started 'doing the work' (what, you didn't think there was work involved? What planet are you on, huh?! :) ). And guess what - an amazing thing started happening: I started getting paid! I actually started getting paid for the work I was doing from home, at my leisure, in my spare time! For real! The company I work with started sending me cheques! Still does too. My bank account continues to expand beyond the size of my ego - and I like that proportion of things.

Well, after benefitting from this industry this way (cheques nicely supplement my 'day job' income), and proving that 'yep, it works for real', I've realized that it is actually selfish of me to keep this to myself, no matter what you think of me. It's just plain wrong. So, out goes that ego, for your sake.

Back to marketing anyway :)

I now realize that in all honesty, I owe it to you to tell you all I know about this industry, and the benefits it offers you for financial independence and true freedom. Tim Sales does a good job of explaining how things work in his video, Brilliant Compensation. More to the point, I owe it to you to tell you about USANA Health Sciences, one of the top NWM companies around today. The integrity of this company: its (Founder and the Products), is rock solid.

I'm not here to convince you of anything. Too much drama in that anyway, and I don't have time for drama. My job is to disseminate information. What you do with the information is up to you. At least I can sleep well at night, knowing that I've shared this good stuff with you, see.

Network marketing is a form of Direct Selling. Matter of fact, the company I work with, USANA Health Sciences, is not only a member of the Direct Selling Association, but USANA's President, Dave Wentz, is the Vice Chairman of the DSA for a second term (re-elected in September '07).

More Time

One sweet thing about owning a NWM business for me, is that it frees me up to pursue my other business interests without pressure (my Personal Development & Peak Performance Coaching & Training Business, including the Total Success For Women project, as well as my Health Coaching & Training Business) - those businesses attract a whole bunch of people with those specific interests, and I'm free to spend quality time serving those interests for my clients, knowing that my USANA business is providing my financial backing and freeing up more time for me.

I've added some informative videos on the right side of this blog. Educate yourself. Watch them. Do further searches online if you desire. Contact me for more information if you wish.lieve the

This stuff may or may not be for you, but you'll never know until you've checked out the information.

Have a fun and productive day, and come back for more info.
Blessings to ya.

A reminder...

Of what marketing is, as we approach the end of this year.

Marketing is what you do when you tell people over and over, what you do. The aim of marketing is to let those who want what you offer, know that you're available to serve them.

If you want your marketing to succeed/be effective, you must be consistent, and you must have a system that you stick to. Systems make things easier and save you time and money.

So get a system in place today and stick to it.

Remember, lousy marketing is always better than no marketing. Besides, with practice you can always improve.

Go on and tell the world how you can be of service!

Blessings to ya.
